Fnality Raises $136M in Series C Round Led by WisdomTree for Blockchain Payment Infrastructure

London-based blockchain payment company Fnality secured $136 million in Series C funding led by WisdomTree with participation from major financial institutions.

Fnality, a London-based blockchain payment company backed by Goldman Sachs, completed a $136 million Series C funding round led by asset management firm WisdomTree. The round included participation from Bank of America, Citibank, KBC Group, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund Temasek, and electronic trading platform Tradeweb.

The company develops blockchain-based payment infrastructure designed to modernize wholesale financial settlements. Fnality's platform aims to replace traditional correspondent banking networks with distributed ledger technology, enabling faster and more efficient cross-border payments for institutional clients. The Goldman Sachs-backed firm focuses on creating digital cash systems for major financial institutions.

WisdomTree, the New York-listed exchange-traded fund provider, led the investment as part of its broader strategy to expand into digital asset infrastructure. The asset manager has been actively exploring tokenization opportunities in private markets, recently collaborating with Citi and Wellington Management on proof-of-concept projects for tokenized private funds.

The funding round represents significant institutional backing for blockchain payment solutions, with traditional banking giants Bank of America and Citibank participating alongside European lender KBC Group. Temasek's involvement underscores growing Asian institutional interest in financial technology infrastructure, while Tradeweb's participation reflects the electronic trading sector's push toward modernized settlement systems.

Fnality's Series C comes as financial institutions increasingly invest in blockchain technology to streamline back-office operations and reduce settlement times. The company's focus on wholesale payments addresses a market where traditional correspondent banking relationships can involve multiple intermediaries and extended settlement periods.

The funding will likely support Fnality's platform development and expansion of its institutional client base. The company operates in the growing sector of blockchain-based financial infrastructure, where firms are building alternatives to legacy payment rails used by banks and other financial institutions.
