AEON Pay Expands Crypto Payment Services to Georgia Through Keepz Partnership

Singapore-based crypto payment protocol AEON Pay launched QR code-based digital asset payments in Georgia, settling transactions in local currency through partnership with Keepz.

AEON Pay, a Singapore-based crypto payment framework, expanded its Web3 mobile payment solution to Georgia, enabling users to pay with digital assets at local merchants through QR code scanning while settling payments directly in Georgian Lari (GEL). The expansion leverages the existing Keepz QR payment infrastructure already adopted by over 20,000 merchants across the country.

Keepz, a Tbilisi-based fintech company, became the first company in Georgia to acquire an open banking license and has pioneered crypto wallet payments in everyday scenarios. The Georgian payment service provider operates as both a payment service and open banking provider, offering customers QR-based payment solutions that have transformed the local digital payment landscape. Earlier this year, Keepz facilitated digital currency payment options for taxpayers in Georgia, allowing blockchain-based payments for public finance through QR codes.

The partnership integrates AEON Pay's multi-wallet support system with Keepz's established merchant network. Georgian users can complete transactions through direct crypto transfers, AEON wallet balances, or integrated payment partners including Bitget Wallet, KuCoin Pay, and Bybit Pay. For merchants, AEON settles all crypto payments directly in Georgian Lari, eliminating volatility concerns and ensuring seamless adoption without disrupting existing checkout processes.

AEON Pay operates what the company describes as the largest crypto payment settlement network leveraging QR codes and bank transfers, currently serving over 20 million merchants and 10,000 global brands across Southeast Asia, Nigeria, Brazil, and Mexico. The platform supports major retailers including McDonald's, Pizza Hut, and UNIQLO through its omni-chain payment system available via Telegram MiniApps, decentralized applications integrated in partner wallets, and leading exchange integrations.
