Coinbase Acquired Liquifi, Marking Its Fourth Acquisition This Year

By JuneJul 03, 2025

Coinbase announced its fourth acquisition of 2025, acquiring Liquifi, a leading token management platform. The move aims to simplify token launches by automating workflows and removing legal and compliance barriers for onchain builders.

Coinbase announced the acquisition of Liquifi, a token management platform, in an X post on July 2. This marks Coinbase's fourth acquisition of the year, following its acquisitions of Deribit in May, Iron Fish in March, and Spindl in January.

Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, said, "Excited to bring Liquifi into Coinbase to make it easy for any startup to issue a token, manage their cap table, and eventually raise money."

Coinbase’s goal with the Liquifi acquisition is to make token launches easier, safer, and more accessible for onchain builders by eliminating the complex legal, tax, and compliance barriers that early-stage teams face.

Liquifi simplifies token launches by automating critical workflows such as vesting schedules, cap table management, tax compliance, and token distributions. This reduces legal, regulatory, and operational risks, helping teams launch tokens faster and with greater confidence.

"This acquisition will enable us to partner more effectively with builders earlier in their lifecycle – before tokens are launched or listed," the official announcement stated. "Our vision is a world where launching a token is easier, faster, and more global than issuing traditional startup equity – and becomes the default path for the next generation of companies."
