ai16z Founder Shaw Unveils Auto.fun Launchpad, Set to Debut This Week

Auto.fun Launchpad, Announced by ai16z’s Shaw on April 14, Targets Decentralized Content Creation with ‘Anti-Pump’ Ethos.

On April 14, Shaw, the founder of ai16z, announced on X that the Launchpad platform auto.fun might be launched this week. Designed to offer a decentralized and transparent space for content creation and token issuance, auto.fun emphasizes the "anti-pump" and "ultra-fun" ideologies, potentially injecting new vitality into the Web3 content economy.

According to Shaw's post on X, auto.fun will enable creators to autonomously manage the fees generated from content creation and token issuance. Additionally, community members can collaborate to initiate content projects or create CTOs (Community Tokens) based on other platforms. Shaw highlighted that the core principles of auto.fun are "anti-pump" and "pure fun." In the current crypto market, many projects suffer from a loss of community trust due to excessive hype, and auto.fun aims to rebuild the trust between creators and communities through transparent token issuance mechanisms and decentralized governance.

ai16z, as a DAO that integrates AI and blockchain technology, has been actively advancing in the Web3 sector since launched. Shaw, not only the founder of ai16z DAO, also introduced the Eliza framework, which supports developers in creating autonomous AI agents widely used in market analysis, trade execution, and content management. In December 2024, ai16z's market capitalization surpassed $1.5 billion, establishing itself as a leading project in the AI agent token field. ai16z proposed a tokenomics update in December 2024, planning to launch an official Launchpad in the first quarter of 2025, with auto.fun as a concrete implementation of this plan.

Historical data from Coingecko shows that ai16z launched on October 25, 2024, with an initial price ranging from $0.02 to $0.06, rapidly rising to a historical peak of $2.34 by January 2, 2025, with a market cap exceeding $2.5 billion, making it one of the largest AI agent tokens at the time. However, as market enthusiasm for AI agent tokens cooled and the capabilities of AI agents fell short of investor expectations, ai16z experienced a significant price drop. As of April 14, ai16z is priced at $0.1343.

The launch of auto.fun marks a significant step in the ai16z ecosystem. Previously, ai16z supported multiple AI agent projects through the Eliza framework. Auto.fun may attract more Web3 content creators, especially in token issuance, where its CTO mechanism could provide new monetization avenues for creators.

Possibly influenced by the anticipation of auto.fun's launch, ai16z's price has risen by 23.7% over the past week. However, despite the upcoming launch of auto.fun, ai16z's price today has not seen an upward movement; instead, it is currently trading at $0.1315, reflecting a 6.9% decrease over the past 24 hours.
